About Our Web Site
|The sisters of the Sancta Clara Monastery are a contemplative community of Poor Clares, an Order founded in the 13th century by Sts. Francis and Clare of Assisi. They follow the Rule of St. Clare adapted to the needs of modern times and the decrees of the Vatican Council II. Theirs is a simple way of life, shared in sisterhood, observing the gospel councels of poverty, chastity and obedience.|
Their principle mission is to live a life of prayer and contemplation on behalf of the Church and the entire human family. In so far as they are able, they support themselves by their own work; they also recieve material assistance from benefactors and friends.
